The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and the Alternatives to Slash and Burn Partnership for the Tropical Forest Margins at the World Agroforestry Centre (ASB-ICRAF) delivered two REDD+ capacity-building workshops for negotiators and stakeholders in May 2011 in Douala, Cameroon and Hanoi, Vietnam. These regional workshops aimed to explore the way forward in the REDD+ negotiations, building on the outcomes of Cancun; share strategies and experiences in REDD+ readiness and implementation; and explore critical issues in the negotiations. These workshops were the third set in a series of REDD+ capacity-building workshops for negotiators and stakeholders delivered with the generous support of the Government of Norway.

The main messages, attached are a summary of common ideas and views expressed at the two May 2011 workshops. For more information, please visit: http://www.iisd.org/climate/land_use/redd/  or contact Jessica Boyle, IISD at jboyle@iisd.ca.
