The Norwegian Embassy in Jakarta is recruiting an Advisor for our development cooperation within climate change and forestry with Indonesia.
The Norwegian development cooperation with Indonesia focuses on supporting efforts on mitigating climate change, good governance and gender. A large part of the development cooperation is channeled through the United Nations system. The Embassy also supports a range of NGOs.
The Advisor will be part of the Embassy’s team on Climate Change and Forestry. The Advisor will be responsible for managing and monitoring the Norwegian contributions to forest and climate change programs in Indonesia. This includes daily follow up on the administration of the projects according to Norwegian Government Regulations and Manuals and other policy documents for Norway’s development cooperation and to stay updated on the development of REDD+ in Indonesia. The Advisor will also prepare documentation and reports requested by the authorities in Norway related to the areas of responsibility, and participate in meetings with development partners and donor agencies. The Advisor will be employed as a local staff and become an integral part of the Norwegian Embassy. As such the Advisor will also assist in preparing documentation for official delegations and visits. Requirements: Relevant education in natural or social sciences. A minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of development program administration and natural resource management. Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is a must, proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage. Demonstrated and robust talent for analytical reporting and writing. Strong communications skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines while also maintaining high level of professional standards. Previous experience from working on climate change and forestry issues is preferable.
